Nikon F3 problem

I have 2 F3's one standard and one HP. they both will only fire with the self timer, after firing info is in the viewfinder for a couple second and goes out. I can wind to next fram but can only fire with self timer. This happens in auto and manual with both cameras.

Is the self-timer switch in the O-F-F position?

Yes only trips when I use self timer, just tried one with MD4 and it works, if I remember right the HP never did work with a drive

Spoke too soon, tried it again with MD and didnt work, self timer activating while turned off

The cameras probably sat too long without being used. Time to send them off for a Clean, Lubrication and Adjust [CLA].

I'm officialloy a dumbass! was turning on selfyimer instead of power switch. In my defense, its been 10+ yrs sinced I used the cameras

Apparently only your memory needed a CLA…
