Yep I rocked the MK-1 as well which is a very useful accessory for the well placed shutter release and as well now use lithium AA's rather than the MN-2 which need to be re-celled. I was considering looking into a re-cell using Ni-Mh like I've done with my Rollei 6008i. I always liked the handsome squared off look of the motored F-3 with MK-1.

I'd probably choose my F2AS. Partly because the meter readout is a little more informative, and partly because I have too much into it, cash-wise. Had it worked on by Sover Wong, which wasn't cheap. But, worth it.

I agree.
It is Very Unfortunate, but understandable, that people do not want to spend 200-400 on a camera that they paid 75-150 for.
My cameras need to be with me for 20 more years, so i look at it as a long term necessity.....not just a game of "As Little Money As Possible".

I have an F3P right here.
The seals are silicone and don't normally need maintenance, not much need to re-foam and all that. I haven't had to touch mine for any reason since I got it.
The shutter release is flattened and covered by a rubber cap. You may be remembering that the rubber cap can wear through, which is probably true, but mine is in fine shape.
The rewind knob lifts up to open the back for fast changes without fiddling with a lock/safety thingy.
The meter is active right away, you don't need to advance to frame #1.
The shutter speed knob is a tad bit taller, I think.
A bunch of frilly bits are gone.
It was half the cost of a Titanium model.
It serves well as a carry-about, takes to bumps and beatings well, both of which are personal opinions of course.
You wouldn't want to get one for studio work.

Yup, have owned it since 2011. A couple times, I've traded it for stuff, but wound up getting it back pretty quickly. Ever since Sover touched it, though, it's been a permanent fixture.

Agreed. Wish he still worked on F bodies. Would send him my F.

Meh, how many times has your regular f3 failed because of weather? The only significant advantage is the hot shoe on the finder.

My F3 was soaked every day for 5 days on a trip to Iceland, it never failed. I've used it at -20 in the Adirondacks and at over 100 in Arizona. Not one issue at all.

Lenses on the other hand, well.... I'm on my 3rd 50/1.4 AIS, The first was destroyed while taking a tumble down some concrete stairs, The second suffered a cracked front element while dropped from a roof of a car. Both of these were mounted on my F3 which didn't skip a beat.
