Brassed body in good working condition except for the button that's supposed to light up the viewfinder. I have never used the winder or flash shoe but they were traded to me as functioning. Film spacing is good and very consistent, no light leaks. Instruction manual included. I used AIS and AFD lenses on this in auto and manual and it works really well. Put 44 rolls of B&W film through it and perhaps ten of color negative; I used it for several years without any problems. The Optech strap is not pictured, nor are the flash shoe or winder. I got the strap because it's a heavy body but I don't care for it--a little stiff for folding up. Also will throw in a few silver oxide batteries. (One oddity is that the meter doesn't read correctly without film in the camera. This threw me for a while until I realized that off the film metering requires a film surface to give the correct reading. CORRECTION: It doesn't matter whether there is film in the camera. The camera must be advanced to 1 to read correctly, per the discussion below. I'm an old dog but I'm still learning. Thanks to Chan and Brian for their information.) Metering is heavily center weighed. I am selling it because I'm not shooting film anymore. This is probably the best film camera I've ever used in terms of straightforward operation, reliability, and ease of use. Payment is PayPal Goods and Services. Buyer pays shipping. 2 week inspection period from date of receipt. Full refund for return (if complete and in condition as sent), but buyer pays return postage.

The film is required only for flash. If the meter doesn't read ambient light correctly without film then it's not correct.

This is not consistent with my experience with this camera. Without film in it the shutter speed will read 1/80th on auto; with film it reads correctly. I have put 44 + rolls through it with excellent exposures. If you have information from Nikon to the contrary please share it.

Chan is correct, as are you (partially). With or without film in the camera, the F3 in A mode displays 80 until the frame counter is advanced to “1”. Only TTL flash metering is “off-the-film”; reflective metering uses a mirror to illuminate the meter sensor in the body.

Chan, Brian, Thank you. I stand corrected. Obviously I misinterpreted the behavior I was seeing. I advanced the empty camera to frame 1 and it reads normally. There's a lot written about the F3. It had a long and glorious run and understandably so: it's a great camera--the best film camera I've ever had. Nevertheless, I'm 45 days "clean" off film and I'm selling it, along with the rest of my cameras (except for one--well, maybe two or three).

i got fooled with the "go to 1" quirk after I received mine back from a very good cam tech and thought he screwed it up. Read the manual.
