Hi everyone,
A few days ago while using one of my F3 bodies I exposed a frame and everything seemed fine. Then when I went to advance the roll to the next frame the lever wouldn't move. It moves a little as it always has, there's that little bit of play at the beginning of the stroke it has before you feel it start to pull the film forward. I tried putting fresh batteries in and that didn't help. I rewound the roll (it got stuck on frame 24 but it was a 36 exposure roll) and not only will the lever still not budge but the rewind button on the bottom plate has stayed in the position you push it in to to rewind. The shutter is not stuck open and the mirror is down. All I could find online was problems relating to the motor drive which I don't use and one person saying he had a gear in the advance that was worn and/or not meshing correctly. Before taking this into the shop is there anything I can do to see if I can get it going again? Thanks.
Regards,
Marc

rotating the sprocket in the direction of travel may pop the RW button back in position.

On the last exposure did the shutter complete it's travel?

Try this: open the back and remove the film. This will sacrifice the film unfortunately. Turn the take up spoil to see if you can free the mechanism for manual winding. If it resumes normal manual function, then bobs your uncle

Yes, the shutter appears to be at rest i.e. not cocked.
