Nikon F2A cable release

Nikon AR-2 cable release.



Has anyone found an alternative to the AR-2 cable release for the Nikon F2? I currently have two which are both held together with duct tape. And recently I’ve noticed they are becoming harder to find secondhand plus the prices are going up as well. I have also looked at the AR-8 adapter which lets you use a screw thread cable. Does anyone have an opinion on this adapter.

I have used both the AR-2 cables and an unknown brand adapter that allows the use of a conventional cable on this type of release (this is also used on some older Leicas).

I find the AR-2 to be the better choice. I'd buy one or two spares as they become available.

Thank you, exactly my thoughts, buy an AR-2 if you can find one.
