Nikon F2 Photomic Film Unloading

For some unexplained reason my Nikon F2 Photomic refuses to allow the back to open to remove the film. The film has been rewound, but when the rewind knob is raised it will not open release the back. Any suggestions?

On F2, key to open film back is on the bottom of the camera, watch for O/C markings! You can not open it by raising rewind spindle

The thing is you must have locked the back when loading the film, or did you!!!!

Ah Ha! The O/C is mentioned in the loading portion of the manual but not the unloading part. I guess it's good to start at the beginning.

The lock for the back is on the bottom because in addition to locking and unlocking the back it also opens and closes the AM-1 film cassette. Same story with the Nikon RF's and the F SLR.
