Nikon F2 DP-11 or DP-2

Hey!

The DP-11 viewfinder on my Nikon F2 is broken. It works, but the plastic cover (the one that has Nikon printed on it) is all cracked, just one good shake away from disintegrating. I can get a replacement for $100, or a DP-2 (not 12) for the same price. Which would you choose?

I would definitely NOT choose the DP-2!

Even the DP-1 is better than the DP-2!

Unless appearance is an issue just use epoxy and duct tape to seal and reinforce the DP 11.

You might look for a used front cover or a non working parts prism.

I would definitely NOT choose the DP-2!

Even the DP-1 is better than the DP-2!

I can tell you that the DP-2 is a flawed design that leads to its failure and unreliability. Sover Wong can fix these issues however.

Thank gusy! Until it breaks further i’m going with the bandaid solution suggested by @Paul Howell
