Nikon F100 missing piece

My F100 is missing the piece of plastic cover on the left side of the front of the camera that goes around and below the multi pin port where the remote shutter release plugs in. Has anyone ever replaced this small piece? I thought about buying a parts F100 to get the part I need, I'm not sure how it fastens to the front of the camera though. Is this a DIY job or should I send it off to be repaired. The camera functions fine it is just missing that small portion of its covering.

Just the grip is all it is.
Contact cement holds it on.
