I have the opportunity to buy a new Nikon TC-16A Tele-Converter. Unfortunately, the seller is a thousand miles away and can't confirm that this converter will work properly on my Nikon F100. I plan to use some older non-autofocus AI lenses, such as the 50/1.4, 105/2.5, and the 135/2.8. Question: will the converter work on the F100 and make my older lenses autofocus? Nikon's original literature states that this converter was made for the Nikon 2020 to use with non-autofocus lenses, making them autofocus, although a bit slower in both speed of focus and light transmission. I checked the Nikonian website and their converter compatibilty chart doesn't list the TC-16A. I called Nikon and waited twenty minutes on the phone and gave up. Help!
