Put my Nikon F with Photomic TN meter and Nikkor-S 50mm f/1.4 lens up on eBay. Camera production date is somewhere in Nov 67 - June 68 according to serial number likely late Nov, early Dec '67.

Great camera that took great pictures but it was sitting on a shelf unused. Meter works. Take the battery out if you're not going to shoot it right away. Auction and pics highlight the blemishes.

What a beauty! If I didn't already have two just like it, I'd be bidding! Good luck on the auction!

Thanks. Perfect outdoor lighting conditions helped too. Hopefully it will find a good home.

Nope! I rarely sell any gear outside of ebay. Dry plates being the exception, of course.

Makes me want to cover anti war protests! I think I'm down to 3 Fs. After the great EMP those babies will still be clicking away. I used a lot of F2 versions, but I still think the F is the most likely to keep going.
Just to show the nuts buying two thousand dollar manual focus lenses for their latest mirrorless, it would be fun to get some Tmax 100 , lock up the mirror and use that 50 year old lens to make some portraits, f 5.6 open shade on a tripod. Genuine Leica /Nikon cable release.

I bought my first 35mm when I was stationed in Japan in 1965 in the USAF. It was a Nikon F Photomic T with a 50mm f1.4, just like the one you're selling. It cost $189.00 in 1965 dollars over there. It was selling the the USA at the time for $495. I added a 135mm. Then when I got home to NYC I lost it on the subway. Hmmm. Maybe you found my camera.

No doubt! I love this camera but... ever since I bought my FM3a this Nikon F just doesn't get the use that it deserves. I want to pass it on to someone who will run film through it.

Ah that's awful that you lost it. The serial number dates this one to late Nov / early Dec 1967 so unfortunately yours is still lost. I kind of wonder if this was someone's Christmas present.
