How to I get a service manual for the Nikon EM. I just got an EM and the meter is 1 stop off. It read 1 stop low and thus recommend/set exposure for 1 stop more than needed.

Chan tran,
I recall the EM had potentiometers for this after taking off the cover, perhaps you would like to fiddle with them until you see the meter meters differently. Of course, some of them are for adjusting shutter speeds, not light value.

That is exactly why I need the manual.

What i mean is, you can measure the current values of the potentiometers and start fiddling them until you find the one(s) that control the exposure measurement. (Afterwards you can reset the others to their original values, because you measured them previously).

Another option is to look for the FG Service manual. It is out there on the web (i've read it once). Not the same camera, but perhaps you can use it to infer the adjustments on the EM.

Chan Tran, I have some information for you that should help but the .pdf file is too large to attach here. PM my your email address and I'll send it off to you. The file is a scan of some pages from the old SPT Journal on servicing the FE, and it includes the meter adjusting process.

Thank you Edcolorado! I got it. Still don't know how to adjust it.

One thing I've noticed about most camera repair manuals, the writer assumes the reader already knows quite a bit about how to do what needs to be done. The magazine that document came from was written for trained professional repair personnel.

You just have to mess with it. I'd start by making very slight adjustments to one of the meter adjustment points pointed out in the document I sent and just see what happens. Unfortunately your pretty much on your own with this part and I'll warn you, I've broken beyond repair plenty of cameras while trying to learn how to fix them. It's all part of the learning experience.
