I just picked up a DP-11 finder and it came with the DL-1 illuminator accessory, which is little more than a small light that backlights the metering display in the finder by shining a light through the external illumination window.

It's intended for a PX13 or PX625 mercury cell.

Is there anybody who's tried an alkaline or silver-oxide cell PX625 equivalent in one of these? It's a useful widget and shouldn't really care about voltage within reason but I'd rather not burn it out or spend $15CDN a cell on Wein cells for a glorified light.

I run mine off of a PX625 alkaline & so far haven't seen any problems.

Will say though that I haven't kept it on for long periods.

If the bulb did fail with the higher voltage in time, I would have a go at putting an LED in it.
