I bought one when they 1st came out. Traded in my D5 and D3. I love it. I loved the D5 too. Low light and auto focus is mind blowing. I never fool with movies.

I have a Fuji X-Pro 3. It's a wonderful little camera. Fast lenses on a DSLR are the best. Mirrorless are a cost reduction.

YEah, I went z6 then z7ii. Mirrorless for me, but that line of lenses is just starting to mature.

D6 is a monster, but in many ways it is designed for spray and pray. By that, I mean what pro news and sports shooters are dying for. 14fps sports at 20megapixels so you can get that shot in odd light, or using those monster fast gigantic lenses you've spent as much on as a used car. All the sorts of things a pro sports guy is looking for that the mirrorless lineup doesn't have native yet.

I wouldn't kick one out of my bed for taking pictures of crackers, but there's no way I'd fully utilize a D6 with what I do. It's just too much camera with a different focus than what I am shooting.

My wildlife photography with the D6 and before that D3 and D5 is mostly my pet cats. Amazing. Indoors, 400mm f2.8 AF-I with a 1.4x tele-converter = 550mm f4, tripod on casters 500th at f 5.6 iso auto. Hell yeah! Continuous high!

Why the heck not! I have a 200-500 I use to take pictures of the neighborhood cats and some lizards in my yard. Thousands of dollars in gear and a cannon of a lens and I'm crawling around in the driveway taking dragon shots of the fence lizards:





I love my Zs, even if I am mostly film these days.

I totally don't begrudge anyone taking kitty shots with the best gear they have!

I have an EOS 90D. It has an identity crisis-- works like a normal DSLR, until you lock the mirror up, and then it goes all Mirrorless on you.

Still haven't found an EVF I'm totally comfortable with.

I go back and forth with the EVF, but for wildlife (And I include musicians in that) I have found focus peaking to be a spectacular tool for getting the "right" spot. THe eye of a lizard, the musician's face when autofocus would have gotten the microphone, or whatever.

But EVF is still weird in other ways. Just like autofocus itself, I guess it's a tool, but it sure is nice to not HAVE to use it. I'm used to mine now, but it took a while.

I have a Sony A77II, don't care for the EVF, I find the Sony A9, 7, and 1 just too small. Better with a batter grip, still not to my liking. As I am committed to Minolta/Sony A mount my next and likely last digital camera will the A99II.
