I'm selling my trusty Coolscan 5000 and 9000 scanners, as I'm consolidating all of my scanning needs into one scanner.

* Coolscan 5000. Bought a couple of years ago from Frank Phillips. Works perfectly. Comes with the SA-21 rollfilm adapter and the custom cloth cover. $1100 net to me.
* Coolscan 9000. Bought around 3 years ago also from Mr Phillips. Works perfectly. I upgraded the film holders to Stephan Scharf's 3D printed versions. These holders blow the Nikon holders out of the water. It comes with the universal frame and top ANR mask good up to 6x9 film. Also included are bottom masks for 35mm, 6x6, 6x7, and 6x9 film. I will include as well a bottom mask for XPan frames - it's in a sealed box I ordered from Stephan but never opened, not pictured in the attached photos. Comes with a custom cover case, and the adapters you need to connect it to a modern Mac (thunderbolt). $2000 net to me.

Located in Portland, OR. I would much rather sell these locally, but willing to ship anywhere in the US, and possibly Canada. Please note that I will need a few days to get the materials to pack these up properly - these must be double boxed, otherwise it's a recipe for damage in transit.

Nice scanners! FYI, I found a good fitting heavy duty box at Uhaul for the 9000 when I sold mine. And I used a courier service (just people who travel in their cars/vans to deliver things cross country) which seemed safer than a standard shipper at the time, and not too costly. Good luck with the sale.

A bit off topic of the sale, but is there any way to contact Stephan Scharf directly, or get information on the holders without joining Facebook? I can’t find anything with a web search, yet.
And are his holders for 120, with glass, any better than the glass Nikon one? I can’t see how, but then again the Nikon one is the only one I have used. I can certainly see how someone could make a better 135 filmstrip holder than the Nikon one.

Stephan’s email:

stephan-scharf (at) gmx (dot) de

My coolscan came with the glassless 35mm and 120 holders. I don’t have direct experience with the 869-GR holder - very pricey for what it is. Stephan’s holders compared to the OEM ones I had just seem more well thought out: using magnets to keep it tightly closed, and the versatility of one mainframe.
