Hi, I'd like to sell my Nikon Coolscan 8000, with 3 film holders (one for 35mm, one for mounted slides, one for medium format), power cable, and firewire cable. Asking $900 (total for scanner & holders ) + shipping (if you are not picking up). This scanner & the 9000 are true 4000 DPI, only expensive drum scanner may beat these two. For a full review on the 8000, check filmscanner.info. It's in German, use Google translate.
The scanner works perfectly (check the video). It has a crack on the front panel that doesn't affect operability at all.
I live in east bay in CA, I'd really recommend picking up this one by yourself, this thing is heavy, really heavy, and shipping will be expensive and may de-calibrate the scanner, so highly recommend picking this up. Otherwise, if you are still interested in shipping, I'll package it very carefully,
Notes:
1- If it happens that you want to pick up, I'll show you how to use the scanner and we will try it out.
2- For software, the scanner will work with Vue scan and Silverfast, both are not free and you'd need to buy them. Nikon software can work, but you need to hack around your operating system or have an old machine (I managed to get it to work on Windows 7 installed on 2012 Macbook for my Coolscan 9000)
3- Make sure that your machine has a 400 firewire input. I've a 2012 Macbook and I'm using 400 to 800 firewire adapter to get it to work with my Nikon Coolscan 9000

PS: I shot the video on landscape orientation, not sure why it got uploaded this way, also the video is long (> 9min) but it shows everything from the moment I start the scanner and doing a full preview then scan.
