Hi all
I took the decision to buy a digital camera, a Nikon Df. I'm happy with this camera. I'm a film shooter since many years but in some situations I do digital shooting. So, I'm looking for an used Nikon 35-70mm D version. I don't know why but almost every lens on the used market have haze or/and fungus. I don't care about some dust. What's the problem with this lens? is there a bad conception of the lens? What are yours experience. What are my other options in used market?
Very common problem and even when new, these flare pretty bad. While sharp, i wasn't impressed with the rendering nor with this flare issue + they are really heavy. I don't miss this lens. Just my opinion of course.
Lets face it; push-pull zooms, and even the 2 ring AF 24-120 D FX lens, by their nature pump air in and out of the lens assembly. That air has to be displaced and replaced every time you zoom; none of these lenses are air tight or they wouldn't work.
So, critters and spores get sucked into this nice micro environment to make happy homes.
