I'm just wondering if anyone out there has this lens and what their opinions are of it.
I'm concerned that I will need to get a center filter for it, but if that's the case, I just won't buy it as the filter is about half the price of the lens. I hear cases that you don't need it for black and white, but you do for colour. I also hear you can't use too much movement with it. I think it might make more sense just to get a 75mm lens instead to avoid the filter and have movements, but still maintain a pretty wide angle look (which is about 25mm in 35mm format?). Any suggestions? I'm using a technika 3 4x5 camera only right now, but considering a 6x9 back.

Jordan.

Do you want to use it with the 6x9 only or both? CF need will depend on the use. I can't imagine needing a CF on the 6x9.

I have the 75mm. The circle of lumination is much bigger then the published circle. Big enough to cover 5x7. Haven't taken a loupe to the corners to check but it certainly doesn't vignette. Fuzzy corners are better then black ones. I bet the 65mm would be similar.

I have it and like it very much. I use it with a heliopan CF when shooting chromes, but as mentioned, on 6x9 you don't really need it. With 612 you do, with chromes. For b&w I don't think you really need a CF.

It's a very good buy for 4x5.
