REDUCED...$239...SHIPPED

Another reduction for a nice Nikon set...

...$189... And still free shipping.

Ok, Maybe this will work...$149...Free Shipping

Well dang, it's starting to look like a real fine kit in good shape - my favorite all-time camera (fortunately I have 4 or 5 already), and probably my favorite 50 also! Bombproof even more than the F I think.

One More Try...$ 129...Shipped.

One question: is the camera's meter OK?

Thanks.

I just checked it again with a battery. I would say 90% of the time it works fine, but I did notice that the needle is a little "jerky" sometimes in dimmer light. It may be my battery or maybe that's normal for this model...I don't know. Seems accurate to me when working.

I may be wrong, but, I believe my current price is a bargain. Your getting a very, very nice lens and camera body that is manually fully functional, but needs seals. Possibly, simply age might be working against the meter...I just don't know.

Ring resistor is probably somewhat dirty. It's a fairly common problem with the Nikkormat FT series cameras, as well as with the metered F prisms and some of the early F2 prisms.

Thank you for your input. I appreciate it. I thought this was a sweet little set-up in beautiful condition. I'm kind of surprised of the lack of interest. I guess a fast Nikon 50 in nearly mint condition isn't as desirable as I thought.

Not a problem. It is a sweet setup. It's just that the market has kinda flatlined with respect to Nikkormat cameras. Same thing has happened with the early FE and FM bodies. Used to be that you couldn't get a good working FM for less than $125. Now, they seem to go for as little as $60 for a chrome FM that's in pretty decent shape. I tink I'd almost split the items up and sell them separately. You probably could get $75 for the 50/1.4 alone. The FTn, however, might sell for $35-$40. The FTn bodies are usually not worth putting money into, unless they're very nice cosmetically, and there is some sentimental value. A shame, really, since they're very capable cameras. It's just that Nikon made a ton of them, and most are still alive. 20 years ago, a nice FTn would easily get $200-$300, especially if it were a late model body and black. Black FT2 bodies could go as high as $350. Yet, I got one that would've cost $350 in 1991 for $45 last month. Works perfectly, only has very minor brassing, and a couple very small dings. These days, if you want a cheap fast 50, you're almost better off buying one with a Nikkormat hanging off the back. You'll get it for almost nothing.

Well, to me, it's too nice together to break it up. I'm open to offers for the set.

It's gonna sell. Here or elsewhere...I'd rather it be here...Make Offer

KEH sells these lenses for around $75.00. They are always available on eBay for less than that, often for around $50.00. This has nothing to do with the quality of the lens (which is excellent). it has to do with the fact that so many cameras were sold with this as the standard lens so there are tons of them floating around. In addition, the non-AI ones are less desirable to digital users since they can't be used on current Nikon digital bodies without modification. So, they are probably most desirable to people like me who have several film Nikon bodies. The problem is, I already have two .
