Does anyone have experience removing the back from a Nikkormat FT? The back on mine has a corroded hinge and I want to be able to punch out the pin holding that back to the body so that I can replace the bad back with a good one. It seems simple enough (in theory) but I have not been able to punch out that pin yet. - David Lyga

Do backs from later nikkormats fit the FT? I have a parts camera that you can have for the back, David.

The Nikkormat in question is the standard variety. FTN, 2, and 3 would probably fall into that category. Thank you frank, but I have a spare back so that is not the issue. However, I did not think of what APUGuser19 suggested and tonight I will attempt that. (This might be a case of genius unnoticed.) - David Lyga

Put a drop or two pf WD40 on the hinge to get it to at least move freely.

wasn't there a small nub on the hinge you pushed down to take the door off?

Is it not like the FTN, 2,3? Because I just peel off the thin leather strip on the hinge end of the camera, and unscrew the screws.

Thank you all. As APUGuser said to, I peeled back the thin black strip and there were screws. This was a case of my being ignorant (I should have known) and all is solved now. - David Lyga
