This is the legendary Nikkor lens, the Ai-S 200/2 IF-ED N - which is the last of the manual focus 200mm f/2.0 lenses Nikon manufactured. This N model (with gelatin filter holder and updated cosmetics), included the same optical formula as its predecessors save for a fixed 122mm optical front element designed to protect the first of two, giant ED (extra low dispersion) glass elements.

This copy is in great optical shape, clean and very clear glass. The non optical surfaces show signs of use, but not abuse. Below will be several more photographs to give you a good idea of what the condition of this beautiful lens are.

There are small wear marks and a small 'ding' in the front, metal ring (see comments for ultra close up of this cosmetic issue (no impact on optical performance - strictly cosmetic)).
Included are the lens, the dedicated lens hood (with an additional, very rare, stopper knob for securing this hood to the lens - $40-$75 if you can find one - mine is like new), soft front lens protector, CT-200 case with its own strap ( case is extremely hard to find), pamphlet and a strap for the lens (never used on this lens).

For delivery within the 48 contiguous states, the price is $1499.00

Uhm.....wow. I was unaware that even existed.
Ooof, I'd love this for my concert photo work.
Lovely lens!

It is a really lovely, lovely piece of glass. I just can't justify keeping it along with a Tamron 300mm f/2.8 360B (can use with my Minolta and Nikon SLRs and friends can use with the Canon EF SLRs) and a truly amazing smc PENTAX-M* 67 1:4 400mm ED[IF] (which I can use with my Nikon SLRs as well as my Pentax 645N & 67 bodies). Tough decision as this is a ridiculously amazing lens.
