I recently acquired an AI conversion ring for my vintage non-Ai Nikkor 35mm f/2.8. It seemed a pretty simple exercise to remove the original and fit the new one.

Labelled "Nikon Factory Brand New #35 AI Ring For 35mm F2.8 Lens" by the seller (Kohs Camera) and described as being the correct fit for my serial number lens. So I'm confident it's the correct item.

Problem 1)
On fitting to the lens it's extremely tight to turn, so stiff it's almost impossible to change aperture setting, even with some lens lubricant applied.

Replace the old original ring and it's a smooth as butter - therefore it would seem to be an issue with the new ring.

I was just wondering if anyone else had encountered this or had any suggestions?

Problem 2)
A screw from the rear lens mount was stripped and needs to be replaced. My research indicates that it's either an M1.7 or M2, but can someone confirm the correct size? Supplier?

Thanks in advance.
