I'm having a tough time finding other threads that deal with this question, so forgive me if this seems familiar. I'm wondering if anyone here has experience with the newest line of Nikkor E-type lenses. Specifically, I have an F100 and an FM2n.

Thank you!

I should clarify that I don't expect the lens to autofocus on the FM2n... That's just silly.

It's not compatible to any of the film cameras including Nikon F6. Focusing aside, I think on a film camera it only shoot at the minimum aperture and the meter won't work correctly either.

I own this lens, it is amazing, especially for the price. I checked it out on my F100 and it seemed to meter ok but can only be used wide open. I'd say it is usable, but limited, thankfully it is insanely sharp at 5.6.

I actually go to the KR site to see what works with what, as he usually tries the stuff on film cameras. The following quote is from his site.

Thanks for responding! I always forget about KR, but it's good to know that your collective experience supports the idea that it will work as a fixed aperture lens. I was initially concerned that it would be fixed at f/32 or whatever as the G-type lenses are.
