We want to send you a friendly reminder that Project Basho is hosting Night for Emerging Photographers tomorrow night from 7 pm at Project Basho Gallery. The event is free and open to public. This is our first NEP, and we are featuring two emerging photographers:
Ed Dougert: Black Land
Ed Dougert will present his on-going documentary project on coal mines in North Eastern Pennsylvania. With thorough study of the coal region in cultural, social, and economic contexts, Ed is attempting to infuse personal interpretation into the documentation of the subject matter.
Brian Shumway: Happy Valley
Brian Shumway will present his project titled Happy Valley. This project explores lives in a small religious community, one in which he himself grew up in and to which he still maintains personal ties.
Brian was a recipient of Honorable Mentions in this year's ONWARD '08, Project Basho's annual juried competition. You can see his work as well as others in the ONWARD '08 web gallery.
