scanning T-Max 100 recently and i keep getting severe newton rings.....can anyone point me to the difinitive guide or tips on how to avoid these....I read a suggestion to scan the reverse.....im trying that as i speak....
ive also just bought 20 rolls of Fuji Acros 100 (120 format) as Im ditching T-Max for now to see hos the Acros goes....anyone care to comment on scanning this film???
i scan on a Scanmate 5000 drum scanner and im in a hot climate and no-air-conditioned room.....thats about all i can say about variables
also, can anyone point me to where i can buy the scanner bulbs - OSRAM Photo Optic Lamp Xenophot it says on the boxes.....12V and 75W (HLX 64615 EFN)
It sounds like you're not using mounting fluid, such as Kami or Prazio. If not, you should. No more Newton's rings. Scanning the reverse will not help, if by that you mean scanning with the backing against the drum as opposed to the emulsion. The backing is even glossier than the emulsion and will cause even more problems.
