I had a nightmare last night. Jorge was full of piss and vinegar and he bitch slapped Agatha. Here is the scary part, I could not see Agatha's knees.

I so much hope for a complete recovery by Jorge but since the man is not suicidal he will not bitch slap Agatha..she would drive over him with the nearest available semi.

I don't undertsand why we have to get so personal in such an impersonal medium as is the internet..

Do you commute by car? If you do, you can answer your own question. Anonymity breeds an extraordinary lack of courtesy.

As to Jorge, I absolutely love his work. He's one of the very few p&p printers who actually seem to fulfill the promise of that medium. As to his pricklyness...geez...the net, as is quoted above, is an impersonal medium...treat it the way you should regard roadraging drivers...get out of their way and ignore them. Think happy thoughts. When you get where you're going...have a double!

As I recall things, it wasn't quite the standard banishment "sine die" that applied. It was more like a mutual agreement that for the immediate future which was then, it would be beneficial for both parties(APUG and Jorge) to have a trial separation. The door was left open, presumably based on an understanding being reached as to future conduct that would be mutually acceptable to both parties.

No one bitch slaps me. Nada, never, no time, ain't gonna happen, and no it didn't happen. I was not part of what happened, and I only knew about it after the fact. I've gotten so I only read the threads that interest me.

Yeah Jorge and I have a history, but we worked it out long ago.

Besides I much prefer the French pronuciation of my name.

Hi Aggie,

I was involved with what I guess became the last thread (s) (and as I recall it was removed). I was very disheartened by what took place. I even communicated with Sean that I thought Jorge should not have any reprimands based on what took place and the other party involved.

Hadn't seen Jorges website yet either. Looks Great!! I agree with the sentiments about his prints - they are generally excellent. The kind you can really live with.

Regarding Jorge's character online; I've never seen a post of his that was unwarranted (not a comment on the last bust up as didn't see it). He has a nack of sniffing out those particularly lacking integrity, and unlike most isn't afraid to call them on it. Frankly the world, and relations via the internet esp would be a better place of more people were like that.

Just to clear some things up here. There were 3 parties involved and several threads over 2 days most of which many did not know about or see (especially what went on behind the scenes). I really did not want to get into this publicly but I am starting to feel like "the bad guy" here so have no choice. I do not ban people lightly especially long term members and old friends. The absolute basics of the matter were a member was asked to please abide by our forum rules and to please tone it down and that member stated emphatically they would NOT abide by those rules or tone it down and to either deal with it or remove them from the site. I am sorry it came to that but it was just as much Jorge's choice as mine.

Time heals a lot of things, even tempers. Yes I have experience with it. Maybe it would be nice to just see if things are better now. Advise the others that ignore is a great feature.

Sean, I apologize if my comments made you feel like the bad guy. That was not the intention, I understand to some degree why what happened did happen. Just voiced my own opinion that while Jorge (like most of us) had a side that some found harsh, he also had a side that was giving and good.

IMO everyone has stated how much they appreciated his input, and missed him. Not one of us knows if he WANTS to come back, he may be perfectly content without APUG. After all he made his choice as well. Agree with Aggie, time heals many things...most of all I hope Jorge's health, much more important than having him posting here. Besides, he has had much more time to create new work and build a beautiful website so we can all visit and enjoy what we love most about him....his work.

Not blessed with either the education or as I now see the life experience to know the relevant term, I sought enlightenment through research. The result amused so that I wanted to share.

Source: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Bitch+Slap

John Powers

1. bitch slap
To open handedley slap someone. Denote disrespect for the person being bitch slapped as they are not worthy of a man sized punch. Suggests the slap was met with little resistance and much whining
Kieth owed me that $20 for weeks and I had to bitch slap the M.F. to get it back.

2. Bitch Slap
As distinguished from the more common "pimp slap", a bitch slap is preceded by ample forewarning and delivered with a flourish or exaggerated post-blow hip movements. Nonetheless, the blow is firm and may involve an open forehand or backhand.

A "pimp slap", to the contrary, is regularly delivered without announcement and oftentimes over breakfast at an IHOP, on a subway platform, or numerous other indiscriminately chosen venues. The blow is always, always struck with the back of ones hand as to do otherwise is bad form. And the hip motion that accompanies a pimp slap provides the torque to knock a bitch silly.
Those guys on Christopher Street like to play around bitch slapping each other and running and shit, but I didn't know what a proper pimp slap was until Charlie the bus driver knocked his old lady silly at a Starbucks the other day. Apparently Charlie told the misses not to use bleach on his draws as the bleach makes him itch. All I know was that Charlie was scratchin his nuts real hard before he set that latte down, planted his feet, twisted his body and, with his knuckles initially scraping the floor, uncorked the definition of a modern day pimp slap. Old girl was out for a good five minutes.

John, It is good to see that you are expanding your vocabulary. This may prove to be useful in case you decide to do an urban photographic series. You will have the lingo down pat and the baby jogger will fit right in with all the shopping carts. Now just add a tattered wardrobe to the mix and you'll go virtually unnoticed.

Robert,

Ah yes, the urban photographic series, four years of retirement has brought the tattered wardrobe. I am thinking of adding a scabbard to the baby jogger to round out "the look". Something to hold the old Remington 870 12 gauge pump. Yet another definition of ghetto blaster. I wonder if the automatic would be a better tool to function fit?

Nah- saw off the Remmington, and mount it on a pistol-grip. Even better, mod it to take belt-feed ammo

Redirect: All silliness and word play aside, I think it is wonderful that Jorge has recovered sufficiently from what must have been a terrible ordeal and is back producing really brilliant work. I personally am grateful for wisdom given by him in the past and for his ability as has been said to separate the truth from what is also often offered in its place.

If he is not to be here by mutual agreement that is none of my concern. I happily wander between here and the LF Forum and gain much from each site. I am glad Jorge is still with us and where I read his thoughts is simply a matter of clicking the mouse.

I put a pistol grip on my 870, shot it once, and took it back off. Pretty much just for the movies and posers. Its nota particularly good iteration for that particular weapon.

Having been through a similar experience to Jorge's about 13 years ago, I can tell you it makes you a little crazy for a while.

Mike,
Thanks for the heads up on Jorge's site. I just emailed him and commended him on it. He said that he used Kevin Saitta's(sp?) software. He said that it was easy to put together and that the software that Kevin provides is simple to use. Jorge asked that I give credit to Kevin for the appearance of Jorge's site.

Just to add to what Donald metioned, I got an email from Jorge yesterday and he ask that I mention Kevin's software as well. If you click on the link from the sponsers page you will find kevin's site. I have had several nice PM's and emils from Kevin in the past and having seen Jorge's site am more than Happy to direct anyone wanting to build their own web site his direction.

A couple of Great guys (Kevin and Jorge) so giving a plug for both is just to easy for me. Thanks for all you guys do..
