35mm_movie.jpg

This the newest addition to our collection at the store. A large 35mm Simplex Movie projector, with a Peerless Magnarc high voltage lamp on the back. The setup is dated around 1928 to 1937 between all the parts, and works great as the previous owner took very good care of it. We just need a carbon rod for the Arc lamp and its good to go. The lens on front is a ISO-Gotten Anamorphic projection lens.

Picture Taken With...
Camera: Graflex Crown Graphic 4x5
Lens: Graflex Optar 135mm f/4.7
Film: Polaroid Polapan 100 (expired in 2003)

Far as the projector and Arc Lamp goes, the info I got above is pretty much what I found on the unit itself, course if any of you guys got additional info about it, let me know, I'm told they used these things well into the 70s in some places since they worked just fine.

I just wana say, the damn thing is even prettier upclose with all the gears and everything inside. It can even by hand cranked if you wanted a lil more control over the speed. I joked bout putting up a big white sheet over the drug store accross the street and play a movie on their building overnight.

I was still running both carbon arc projectors, and lights in the early 90's. I would think you could still find a box of rods around somewhere.
