Hi everyone! I have started to research large format land, just bought a Cambo 4x5 with no lens. Now I have read that the size of the hole on the lensboard is related to the type of shutter a lens has. So I am confused about something! Here is my question:

I have been loooking at KEH and noticed that all their large format lens refer to "42 mount" or "65 mount" but I have not been able to find what this means! I guess I was expecting to see the adds say something like "for shutter 1" and I have seen no other reference that might indicate what kind of lensboard would be needed with the lens.

Please exuse the total newbie question, Thanks in advance!

I've never seen anyone quote lens size in this way, but 42 and 65 are the sizes in mm of the required holes for #1 and #3 shutters respectively, so I supose that's what they mean!

Best regards,

David

When you go to the KEH page with the lensboards pick the board with the same size hole.

If KEH has not changed in recent years, when you talk with them about a lens ask them to mount it on a board appropriate for your camera. It used to only add the cost of the board, no labor cost. I have always found them easy to deal with since they were basically a two person operation.
