Newbie from Maastricht, the Netherlands

Hi everyone,

my name is Jan and I live and work in Maastricht in the Netherlands - originally I am from Hamburg, Germany.

I started photography (100% digital) about three years ago - after taking pictures of some bridges and cityscapes I got obsessed with fashion and portrait photography... about a year ago I discovered the beauty of analog photography and exercise it more and more... I am probably one of the few that love glossy digital fashion photography as much as analog black and white portraits.

This site and the forum was (and is) very helpful in absorbing information on analog equipment and technique - so I figured I might polish my profile a bit and introduce myself

I just got back to the US from a month based in Maastricht and doing trips out from there. Sorry I just missed a chance at meeting you in person. There are other APUG members there, and an APUG based group in that area that meets periodically. Find Ruud here on APUG and he can fill you in.

Do you by any chance do traffic control for the airbase that flies the AWACS out of that area? My brother in law used to pilot AWACS.

Welcome from New England.
I spent one very cold week in Amstelveen and Amsterdam...back in '96. On new years eave, we went out to a club and listened to some great jazz and then visited the red light district (NO...just walked around to see the sights) and had a great time.
