Hi,
Here reporting from Holland. (yes the small country that has Amsterdam in it )
Since yesterday i bought an 1994 Canon EOS 5 with an canon 28-105. Also from 1994. I am the 2th owner. The feel and looks of the cam is just great. The sounds etc. Can't really explain it. I want to shoot B/W with it. Cos i like it more then color.
First i have to buy some films cos you can't buy them at the local stores here. Wich sucks

Just asking. Wich B/W film is good for landscapes? As i have seen that there are a lot of different films out there.

Sounds like you made a great find with your Canon film camera!

Its not just amsterdam. You should try Utrecht (only 45min max from AMSt). And there are a lot of old towns with great old buildings. I tried Vreeswijk (little village near my) and thats great at night.

I like Kodak T-Max myself, but Ilford too makes very fine film.

I like Kodak's Plus-X. It has a traditional "cubic" grain structure, which makes it look more like a classic B&W print. However, it has finer grain than Tri-X, which makes for better enlargements.

Welcome to the forum! There have been some suggestions, all of them good, the classic Kodak Plus-X or Ilford FP4, or the more modern emulsion Ilford Delta films or Kodak T films. Try them all and see which you prefer. In my view the classic emulsions are ideal for landscape giving lovely tonality and good sharpness.

Maybe for landscapes in 35mm you want to go down in grain and up in resolution. So B&W films less then iso 100 available are:
Rollei Retro 80S (iso 64-80), Ilford Pan F+ (iso 50), Efke 50-25 (iso 50-25), Rollei Pan 25 (iso 25), ATP1.1 (Tech Pan) iso 32 and some micro films but very slow in speed.

And indeed: Classic emulsions are ideal for landscape.

Hello and welcome to APUG! Most of Kodak and Ilford B&W films are excellent. You could try Kodak's T-Max film, either 100 or 400.
