I just received a Nikkor 80-200 f4.5 zoom in the mail. I used one of these back when they were top line lenses. In my book it still is. I had forgotten how sharp these lenses were. This one is in fantastic condition, with just the right amount of creep. Somehow no one else really wanted it on eBay and I got it for a song. I'm just gonna step and now and let the shutter start singing.
Depending on its age, some were considered too loose and sent back to be tightened.
I have one of those loose ones and love it, after years of fighting with tight zooms I now have one that works fast enough for moving objects.
Got mine off ebay too,my top bid was $40 it went much higher but the schmuck didn't pay and the second position bidder must not have wanted it because it was offered to me for my $40 bid.
Included a Nikon skylight filter, both caps and it was in a CL35A Nikon case.It would easily be a KEH LN-
It's the only zoom I have: despite not being a zoom fan, I was very impressed by its sharpness.
Mine is also very creepy, but that's ok as I'd probably not want to use it on a tripod.
I keep it for situations where I might not be able to "zoom with my feet" (canoes, vehicles, ect.)...
