If I read the press release info (the Questions and Answers pdf) correctly, the 400NC continues to be available in sheet film sizes, and the 400VC (continues) to not be available in sheet film sizes.
Matt, Youre right, i missed that part. Ok, i am happy again not that there's anything wrong with the C2, it's a great film in any format.
Thanks for correcting me.
Really pleased about this because 400NC in 35mm is a really important film for my wedding work and I'm always trying to achieve the finest grain possible. Ideally I like to use the 160NC, but often the light is just not good enough.
I haven't seen a post to this yet, so I'd thought I'd put one up. Apparently there is a revision 3 coming soon for Portra 400NC and VC. Even finer grain then the last revision.
Also 800 MAX film is seeing a new revision similar to what was done on Gold 100 and 200. I suspect this was in the works from years ago and since film is still selling well, Kodak decided to impliment it. Ron might have more info on that. Nice to see film still going strong.
Sheesh! I was just getting ready to continue to rave about the 2nd gen (3rd? I forget) improvement of Portra. the 400VC just completely eliminated UC400 from my usage, better grain in skintones (neutral too) while keeping lots of the UC vivid color 'POP'. I suppose the 3rd (err, 4th? Maybe I'm counting the pre-Portra Pro films) will be just as good and perhaps even better.
