Hello,
I am interested in creating a Zine of one of my most recent collections. I know that there are no "rules" per se, but are there considerations that you would recommend?
How many to have printed?
Where to leave them? Ask permission or just leave behind?
Best practices?
??

I am trying not to over think it, but I want to be prepared.

Thanks!!
Pam

A zine has very few rules. It could be one or a few hundred. They kind of go back to the punk rock movement, and tend to be informal and unorthodox as to binding, size and materials. As far as distribution is concerned, asking permission might be the best way to go--less risk of them being tossed. But it would depend on where you intend to distribute them.

Thanks Pieter
I haven't researched where to distribute them yet. There is a bookstore/coffee shop nearby that has other zines in it which gave me the idea. So I guess I have one location.
