Hey guys,
I am a 23 year old photographer based in Orange County, CA. I shoot with a Minolta X-700 for the most part as I find it to be sturdy and easy to travel with. I'm excited to check out the forums and get to know the community!

Check out my instagram @_photofilm
Will be traveling through Eastern Europe and Thailand this summer and throughout California!

Thanks!

Good choice of camera. Plenty of equipment available and good quality.

Your X-700 is one of the most sensible cameras ever made. Excellent viewfinder for luminosity and easiness of fcocusing, TTL flash, quartz-controlled shutter speeds it seems, nice soft shutter release, intelligent "finger-sensitive" camera switch, measuring of exposure in automatic mode after the diaphragm closes, a very well-thought camera. Wonderful lenses to couple to it.
I'm a Minolta guy so maybe I'm biased, but sincere.

Welcome to APUG and to analogue photography.

Welcome to APUG

I started with a Minolta X-700 and I was happy.
Then I joined APUG.
Long story but the short version is that now I have:
Tessina Auto 35mm half frame camera
WideLux F7 35mm panorama camera
Voightlander Vito II 35mm camera
Nikon N-75 AF 35mm camera with a Tamron 28mm to 300mm AF zoom lens
Nikon F-100 AF 35mm camera with a Nikon 28mm to 300mm AF zoom lens and Nikon 20mm to 35mm AF zoom lens
Kodak Brownie Hawkeye
Hasselblad 503 CX with 50mm, 80mm, 150mm, 250mm, 500mm lenses with two 2X extenders
Hasselblad 903 Super Wide Camera
4"x5" Pacemaker Speed Graphic
4"x5" Graflex
Not one but two hand held light meters, one can be a spot meter, one includes a flash meter
Color and black & white darkroom

My advice? Run for your life!

Welcome to APUG! I started my use of 35mm with a Minolta SRT-100 and eventually moved to a Nikon F2 around the mid-70's. I still use that F2 on a fairly regular basis.

Have fun!
