Hello to all. I’m a retired person renewing my interest in making prints from film. My earliest darkroom experience was in Jr. & Sr. High school in the 1960’s. I had some experience working for a photo studio and years later worked for a company that had me shoot hundreds of 35mm photos of their people working and at company functions. For the last several years I’ve been shooting B&W 6x4.5, 6x7 and 6x8 with a Fuji GX680 iii. I love the sharpness of the negatives. Recently I’ve begun to put a darkroom together and am slowly outfitting it with the best equipment I can afford on my limited SSA. I’m currently looking for good 11x14 and 16x20 easels and trying to learn about print processing in closed tanks on rollers. I’m particularly interested in this in order to make big, like 30x40 prints. If it seems like a good way to go I’ll be in the market for one of those systems or, I’ll follow some of the descriptions about making my own, hime made tank and roller system as others on Photrio have done.
My favorite time to take landscape photos is in winter either during or right after a heavy snowfall, preferably in fog with cows in a pasture or of snow covered trees glistening in the sunshine.
I’ve spent more hours than I can count reading and benefiting from many discussions on the site and am pleased to participate in it. Greetings to you all, McKay
