Yesterday and older neighbor and friend called to see if I had any interest in some old cameras. I saw him today and picked up a Nikon and a Minolta. The Nikon is an F from late in 1962, based on the serial number. It came with a 5CM f/2, an otiginsl hood and cap, a Nikon filter, a brown leather case, a plain prism finder and the selenium clip-on meter. The cameras is a chrome model. The meter looks dead and the prism finder looks like it has a very small area of desilvering. The shutter curtains look good and the shutter sounds good. The F I already had is a black model from 1973 toward the end of production. The Minolta is an X700 which looks unused. I put in two new MS-76 batteries and it powered right up. It came with a late original case, a 50/1.7 MD, the original lens cap, a Minolta filter and a rubber lens hood. The serial number is over 3,000 000 and it is marked JAPAN. The F had been owned by at least two people before I got it today. I have a fleet of X700s and I think I have all of the accessories made for them.

The F had a partially shot 20 Exp. Roll of Tri-X so it must not have been used for some time.

Major score! 20 exposure rolls, the original "bonus" rolls that gave you 2 more exposures than an 18 exposure half roll. 😊
