I just got a Mavica FD87 with its charging bits, so I can juice up my FD90 found on the trash heap.
I just don't know why, but I felt like I had to. Weird.

The place I worked, early 90s, the Mavica cameras used 3.5 inch floppy disks

I have a couple of those Mavica's which take floppy disks.
Neither one has a battery or charger so no way to test.
Also have the 2nd consumer-grade Kodak and early Logitech cameras, both use serial or scuzzi? cables to the pc but once again, no way to play.

The battery that came with the Mavica is not taking charge in, but there are cheap replacements, I think.

@choiliefan I may still have a boatload of SCSI cables. Figure what you need and let me know!

The old digital cameras will be a thing I bet. Super cheap, super fun. You'll probably enjoy the Mavica. From what I recall it was the first really widespread digital camera.

I rebought a Minolta G400 a year or so ago and it took me quite a long time to find one intact. The 4mp camera was really good in bright light, best at the time, and in low light it was atrocious. But like Brian Eno said, when every generation of technology changes, the worst thing about the previous generation will become it's signature.

I keep old stuff around like a Sony USB floppy disk drive and an old Powerbook. Never know when you are gonna need it! Old technology can be fun sometimes compared to the bloat we have these days.

Sepia on Mavica.JPG

One of the first pictures, using the onboard sepia effect!
It almost has (what I think may be) a box camera feel.
