Look what Santa brought. A Bronica ETR with 75 f2.8 Zenzanon. Complete with 120 back and grip. Can't wait to fire this up. Santa also left Ektar 100 and Ilford HP5 in my stocking!

Very nice! I also have an original ETR with the AE prism and I'm always impressed with its versatility and overall handling, especially with the speed grip. The lenses are excellent and, despite the age of the original ETR, mine soldiers on without a hitch. Enjoy!

thats the lady of 645s. its such a comfortable camera. the only other accessory id recomend is the focusing lever for your lenses. i get them from keh, about @ $10ea.

oh, be sure to get the manual for it from butkus?

enjoy it.

An excellent camera! And good work by the photographer

In shooting Bronica ETR for many years, I have consistently been impressed with the image quality. The lenses are top notch. My favourites were the 75mm, the 60mm, and the 150mm. The mirror seems well dampened, and the choice of leaf shutters makes it possible to obtain pin-sharpness at very modest speeds handheld.

All good things must come to an end. I was noticing an occasional blank frame when processing the film. I thoroughly checked the shutter and found out it was occasionally firing at 1/500th setting, its default mechanical setting. Not sure if there was a problem in the lens or the body. Cleaned all the contacts and installed a new battery. The problem did not go away. I bought it with a 30 day return option, so back it went. What a shame, I really liked this camera. The search continues...

Sad to hear this. Don't give up, though. There are still good deals on ETR models out there. I like Bronica's 645 format the best because it is the most system-like of all the 645 SLRs made, with the possible exception of the Contax, which still comes at hefty price.

I bought my ETRSi outfit at what I suspect was the nadir of medium format camera prices. An eBay auction, of all things. I won a small outfit, which included an ETRSi body, prism finder, 75mm lens, and a 120 and 220 back for $127. !!! I was surprised that I didn't get outbid. I check on prices for the ETR models from time to time on eBay, and I find that there are still excellent prices to be found. I have since added a Speed Grip E (essential accessory), 40mm and 150mm lenses, plus a couple more 120 backs, and an AE-II metered prism. I now have a top-notch, killer 645 outfit, which was rather painless to put together. So far, my most expensive item has been the 40mm lens. I would like to upgrade to the AE-III metered prism someday, but they are relatively pricey compared to the rest of my ETR gear.

My ETRSi came with an AE-III prism; the spot metering option of the AEIII is a useful upgrade.
It's supposed to be darker compared to the AE-II - I can't compare.
I would like to try the PE 105mm f/4.5 macro, but it's also not cheap.

^The bellows are rather painful to use , especially so if you already have the 105 mm macro . The 105 is a pleasure to use , although
it's quite large and uses oversize filters . If you should still lust for the bellows , pm me . Peter
