new to mamiya

after getting a mamiya 67 on ebay I realise it needs a film holder because it has a polaroid back so I will have to get a film back could someone tell me if I need something else is there a revolver separate from the film holder
the othething is when I look down the view finder I thought I would see a square pic but I see a circle pic is there something wrong please help if you can

I mean rb 67 I had a look at some pics on a site about cameras Im sure when I look down the viewfinder I should see the pic Im about to take just like a slr 35mm which I am used to. why am I seeing a small circle of the pic I am about to take hope someone on hear can help me get to grips with this camera as I cant wait to get started with medium format the enlarger I have is a Agfa c 66 the negative carier is a 6 7 that's the reason I wanted a 67 camera one thing I wood like to know about this enlarger is what would be the right size of lens when printing 67 negs I do have a 90mm lens would this do the job or not hope someone can help

There are three different models of RB 67. The earliest is the Mamiya RB67 Professional. Next came the RB 67 Pro S. The last version was the RB 67 Pro SD. All of these cameras need to have a Rotating adapter in order to mount a film back.

thanks for that info could you tell me when I look thru the view finder should I see the full view or a circle view of the image

You should be able to see an image on the entire focusing screen.

Welcome to the world of RB67, Hugo.

As already stated, there are three versions of the RB67. They are: Pro, Pro S, and the Pro SD. Basically, not to get too confused the Pro S is an update to the Pro, where as the Pro SD also being an upgrade to the Pro S, it has a slightly LARGER opening for two later lenses that will not fit the two earlier models. Those lenses are the 75mm Tilt/Shift lens, and the 500mm Telephoto lens.
Determine which model you have to make sure you understand the lens issues. Not a big thing at all, as for the most part Mamiya was excellent about keeping things a bit backward compatible as they moved forward.
If by chance you have the Pro SD model with the LARGER front opening there is an adapter ring or sleeve you can use on the lenses that make a tighter fit on the LARGER opening.

When I was doing my initial RB67 research, I collected a series of videos and saved them in a youtube play list since it is a lot easier to watch a demonstration than to read through and try to make sense of a manual. I hope this helps:

thank you all for the input I have found out what the problem is after seeing on you tube the problem is the viewing screen is missing just something else I will have to get Im bidding on a film back then I will need the revolving thing
then viewing screen I wish I had done m homework more on this camera however I am not put of . looking forward to shooting some film with this camera one day I do have some film

Hey lee I won the camera on eBay this one is complete I hope to have it ins few days and got some film thru it I will be looking for a good portrait lens what would you recommend for the best portraits

The crop factor for the RB67 is roughly 0.5. A 85mm or so focal length lens is popular among 35mm & full frame DSLR photographers for portraiture to provide adequate camera to subject distance, which would correspond to 170mm FL for the RB67. The closest Mamiya lengths are 150mm & 180mm. Mamiya also made a 150mm soft focus lens, which IIRC was recommended for portraiture.

Thank you lee for the info on that lens I have run a few spools thu the camera and I am pleased with the results thanks again to your help
