Hi there. I'm hoping this post is appropriate but if not let me know and I can delete it straight away.
I've had a bit of a search and sift through the forums here but I can't seem to find what I'm after. Also googled extensively to no avail.
I've just bought my first 4x5 camera which is very exciting but I do have a few questions.
Firstly, I don't know what generation of camera it is but I would love to find out how to identify it, I suspect it's one of the very early models.
Secondly I need film holders but i have read early models are particular about what is compatible.
If anyone can give me some advice or even point me toward somebody who has knowledge of this brand it would be super helpful.
I have seen the mpp group but for me money is limited and I dont know if I really want a paid membership just yet. Once I get shooting and decide that I want to persevere with 4x5 and the MPP I may decide to take that step.
Cheers, David.

Thanks for the reply! I think you're right, but I'm sure somebody on the forum here would know. I would also be interested in the MPP book written by basil skinner, if anyone had a copy

David, there are a number of MPP Micro Technical camera users on the site but without any photographs of your particular camera it is difficult to give any meaningful response.
I would suggest you go to the archived version of the MPP Users website here: https://web.archive.org/web/20111022073719/http://www.mppusers.com/microtec.htm and check the serial number of your camera against the listed serial numbers of the different versions of the camera listed there. Once you have identified which version of the camera you have you should find most of the answers you are seeking on the site. If not, then post some photos here, together with your camera serial number, and I'm sure you will get all the help you need.
