New Tetenal : Magic Boxes C-41, E-6 and RA-4

TETENAL 1847 GmbH has just announced the introduction of new developer kits for processing C-41, E6 film and RA-4 prints under the “Magic Box” brand. Initially available for German-speaking markets only, the kits are being positioned by the company as an option for film photographers wanting to try out colour film and paper development for the first time without first investing in a larger kit.

Each Magic Box comes with enough chemistry to develop a single roll of 35mm 36 exposure or 120 roll film (C-41 or E6) or 23 sheets of 18×24 cm colour photo paper respectively.

There are only two boxes listed on the English written shop, but all are listed on the German written shop.

Two internet shops are selling the kits for the moment : Foto Brenner and NORDFOTO.

13.40 Euros seems like a lot for one roll of E-6 film, especially when you have to buy all the other required equipment.

I do see how it could be useful on a trip when film needs to be developed before returning home.

I do see how it might be useful to a B&W user who wants to try a test roll of E-6 to see how the kit works.

First tests will say if you can use it for 2 or 3 films, like the other packs...

I saw a photo today of some effervescent tablets that they've been talking about for some time.

Does this meant they're going to restock the 1 liter C-41 kits again? They've been out of stock everywhere in the USA.
