New Rubber For Mamiya RZ67 Body?

The rubber on one side of the bottom of the RZ67 body has come off, exposing a small hole in the casing. Is it possible to get new rubber for these cameras? I only need the one strip for it.

There are a number of companies that sell leather or plastic covers for many cameras. I am sure that you can find several that will sell covers for the Mamiya RZ67.

Ive done a search on web searches and Ebay and came up with nothing. I may not be looking in the right place, but so far nothing.

Covering on the RZ67 side and bottom plates was bonded to the plastic substrate and never sold as a separate part. When parts were available through Mamiya, I just replaced the entire cover but since that is not an option any longer, you will need to improvise with some material..

His reputation precedes him, but some folks here recently reported reliable dealings. The other popular source is Aki-Asahi, but he is apparently not shipping to the US or Canada at the present time http://aki-asahi.com/store/

I am not sure about the original covering, but a cleaned piece of bicycle tube yields a satin surface and a smooth touch. It would cost you nothing and would be easy to apply with contact cement.

A quick search on that site shows the RZ isn't supported.

Either buy a small piece of material and cover the wires or buy a large piece of leather, make patterns with brown paper until you get the right shapes and then cut the leather and attach with a slow setting contact cement so that you can move and readjust the pieces.

RZ covering appears to be molded material into shape, This is not a piece of flat whatever that is cut to shape then shaped as needed at glue on. I have not ever seen body covering replacements for RZ, it appears as it could have only been done under controlled production environment.

Seems like you have two choices: write to those who do re-covering jobs (camera leather is one of them, some camera repair shop do that too), if they are willing to take on this odd one, or find a material that can be cut to shape (make a template first with paper so it molds into position as neatly as possible) and apply it yourself. I think end result will probably not be looking much better than the current naked section.
