Sorry I just now noticed your question! Yes that's right. Also there is a very neat thing you can do with paper positives and negatives.... you can work with a pencil on the back of the interpositive ( for "burning" ) and then again with a pencil on the back of the negative ( for "dodging" ) so there is a lot of control possible. The paper negatives do produce a different look compared to a straight print.

Photographer's Formulary and Artcraft are the usual suspects for raw photographic chemicals in the USA. Can't help on the other stuff, but I've ordered from Formulary, been very happy with the stuff I've bought and the service.
