That's great! Of course, I thought they were already a sponsor, so it's like they've been getting free advertising in my mind all along.

I’ve been a customer of Blue Moon for ten years and I’ve never been disappointed in anything I’ve purchased from them. (Bought my Deardorff and Hasselblad kit from them, and much more) The staff are the nicest people, they know their stuff, and they love to engage their customers. Blue Moon is one of the most genuine, fully invested camera/film shops on the continent.
(That may sound like a paid endorsement, but I assure you, it’s not)

Oh dear, you may have cost it money in sponsorship if everyone thought the same way as you 😨

That's great, I've been buying film from them for a while now. They always seem to have stuff in stock that I have trouble finding elsewhere.

I’ve bought from them online for a while, but stopped in in person a couple months ago when I was in Portland. I visit camera stores whenever I travel, and I think Blue Moon is now my favorite. The staff were incredibly nice, helpful, and patient with my looking at camera after camera. The selection was great, and I ended up with a couple new lenses, including a W-Nikkor 35mm f/1.8 with original case at a very reasonable price.

Anyway, glad to see them as a partner here.

I have many fond memories of dropping my daughter off at the ballet studio across the street on Saturday mornings (it's no longer there) and then spending a good chunk of the next hour at Blue Moon. Plenty of storefronts in St. Johns have sadly failed in recent years, but not Blue Moon.

Well, here's at least one success: I'd never heard of them before. Now I know.

If you find yourself visiting Portland, it's worth the effort to check them out. It has the feel of what the old camera shops were really like.

+1; I've bought several cameras from them and been impressed with the quality of the stuff they sell. They are also very pleasant people and their shop is like a museum (only everything works!). A longish journey by bus from the train station, but well worth it.

And you could also pick up a typewriter if you were so inclined.

That's fantastic! Jake, you'll find that us APUGGERS photrio...ers love to spend money on good gear, film, and processing. Oh wait, you already know this. I still use both of the machines I bought from you for my fiction. The Selectric sits on the typewriter table next to my writing desk and I love that creature.
Folks, Jake runs Blue Moon, in case you didn't know. I met him for the first time when a friend and I stopped in Portland on the way to our grand adventure in the southwest about 18 years ago. Jake put us up at his house and even let us use the Blue Moon roof to make pictures of a parade passing by that day. He probably doesn't offer those accommodations to just anyone. I had an in. My friend worked for Jake at a previous camera store and they were great friends. Right Jake? 😋
You'll get better service if you show up at his establishment with proper trousers. Short pants, or "shorts" might get you a shrug from the staff. But mail order or in-person, you'll love their service.

I don't disagree with any of this, but Arthur makes me laugh just a bit more.

You must have taken the #4 Fessenden bus. That one stops every other block. Thanks for riding TriMet!

Great. I follow them on socials. Whenever I've reached out to them they got back promptly and were very nice. They seem to be good people.

I think they do repairs if I'm not wrong.

Thanks Renee for helping pick the paper for my tree series of enlargement prints on Ilford Multigrade Fiber 300. I am anticipating tone and texture to be right what the collection needs to step it up one stop, just by the nature of the paper, without toning at all.
