A small group of us photographers / web geeks have started a new photography site. Basically were trying to build a showcase site of photographs, exhibitions and photography related links that we think need some exposure. The site just launched officially and we are in need of material to get this thing rolling. So if you have a few good singles, a portfolio that has never been seen, an up coming exhibition, or just something you think is cool relating to photography on the web, shoot it our way. If you have a complaint, david b, please use the "report post" button, rather than replying in the thread.
The site referenced in the original post seems small scale and low key enough, that it doesn't seem abusive, but I'm not sure what it's doing in "Workshops." I'm moving it to a more appropriate forum.
I did not read it offesively either...I think most people who start a website want people to come to it, and this person actually invited others to join in and contribute to this website.
Additionally David, if you check his date for joining APUG it was on May 14. Not everyone posts that often until they become more at home. Give the guy a break at least for the time being.
Origin, I looked at some (not all--hey I'm at work) of the photographs on your website. I liked a lot of it. If I knew how to upload photographs and if I weren't so lazy I would apply. I like the site as such because it's easy to navigate. Best of luck to you.
I have no problem with it either, but it would be nice to see a link to APUG on the links page, or maybe even an article in the articles section on the worlds largest traditional photography website. (thats us, guys)
It is considered good manners to ask the site owner before a post of this nature, but as I do not think there is anything in APUG's conditions to ban such posts, the worst offence he can be charged with is poor etiquette: I've seen worse (blimey, I've done worse.... )...
