Found this in the Tim Rudman newsletter:
Finally: January 2021 - a 'teaser'
January brings not only the promise of widespread vaccination programmes for Covid-19, but also a new photographic paper (embargoed until January 12th) and we don't get many of those now.
I have samples in my darkroom and will bring you news in January after the embargo is lifted, so keep an eye on your inboxes and your spam folders.
Could this be the Adox Polywarmtone?
Regards,
Frank
Tim Rudman is the last person I would listen to about PWT. He predicted its return to the market several years ago, and he did so, as with a lot of other things being claimed these days, "with no evidence whatsoever."
There's a thread with a few insiders around here somewhere. It seems a lot closer to release now than it once was and I'd be surprised if they didn't manage to release it this year
Yes, the plan was to release it in 2020 but covid sorta changed that. But Tim had predicted its return years ago with a statement that seemed as if he had inside information, got a lot of people's hopes up (not mine, because I never believed it since he never produced evidence)
But they are releasing it in liquid emulsion so we're getting closer..
From what I understand, Tim Rudman has been one of the testers of the new PWT over the years, and I think has been sent test coatings at several stages for his feedback. PWT has not been able to be Adox's first priority material, so every time it hits a snag, it has to take its place in the queue.
It would make more sense to supply information on templates for common sizes of labels - such as the Avery line.Postcard 'template' is embarrassing IMO. Just say it's no longer available.
And a good tester he is. Bad predictor thats, all.
I can't weigh in on that at all, but Mirko from ADOX himself said they repeatedly thought they had it nailed and then lost a supply of some component and had to start almost over. In one video I saw he showed boxes of tests and reams and reams of samples from 10 years of work. I think everyone had multiple false starts.
