New paper for emulsion coating

I coated some Arnhem 1618 paper yesterday with excellent results for my POP paper and it came out very well...this is a nice paper from an old mill and it is well priced too
100% rag and acid free
Vellum finish
Two decked edges on white and warm white only
Internally and externally sized
I used the 320gm 22x30 sheet
At dick blick for $6.09/sheet or $5.47 for 25 sheets

The paper is actually Pescia made by legion papers
ALWAYS MARK YOUR PAPER ON THE BACK!
100% COTTON GRADE
internal sizing but little outside
4 deckled sides with CM LOGO..CARTIERE MAGNAMI MILL IN ITALY
 
Looks good. Which emulsion recipe are you using?
 
Chris it is one I found in an old book/Manual
A. gelatin 24g
Amm. Chloride .8g
distilled water 200ml
l combine and let sit for 30 minutes to bloom

B. Tataric Acid .8g
NaBicarbonate .4g
Potash Alum .5
Water 30ml

C. Silver Nitrate 10g
Citric Acid 2.25g
water 50ml
keep separate until time to add so dilute in 25ml each
A+B heated to 110 degrees
Add C slowly while temps the same
To Finish: add 20ml Alcohol
5ml of 2.5% chrome alum

Before you coat:
20 drops of photo flow
5ml glyoxol
you can also add thymol if emulsion is to be stored
the recipes are not all that different
just variations on theme
this one works for me so I stick with it

I am just getting ready to start experimenting with selfmade emulsions.
Chrome alum is a hardener, do you add it to an emulsion that can be refrigerated and used at a later point or is this for immediate coating?

Chris I have added the Chrome Alum and usually coat afterwards but have left unused potions in the fridge.
I've noticed little frilling on watercolor paper; but hardener does help.
the chrome alum does have a nice purple color and I do get lovely purplish tones; can't verify if it's from this...

thank you Denise....the print actually has a deeper purplish tone
paper is lovely though and about $1 less per sheet than Rives BFK; they are both sold by Legion papers
they are a very nice company and will send samples if requested
