I heard in a thread that Jersey Vic started about banding and lith and what other papers he should try. One of the responses came from Bob Carnie that he should try Oriental G4 in lith. So does the new version lith? Or was that a reference to the old G4 paper? I am just curious, as if it's the new paper that liths, then it is a well kept secret that must be made known!

It is my understanding that it does not. I can tell you definitively that the Oriental VC does not. Too bad.

I started with the old g4 which worked quite nicely, the new stuff Oriental G4 graded, purchased both at B&H and Freestyle last year 2007 worked very well.. It may not be exactly the same but I have had no issues.
I use Nova Lith A B at 1-8 dilution plus old chem, which I understand is much stronger mix than most people use.. As well for this paper I use a second enlager flash to get out the creamy tones that I use this paper for .
I did not have great results from the VC oriental.

Am I missing something here, I understand G4 old emulsion has not been around for quite awhile, but I have a number of clients who purchase it for our printing sessions Oriental g4 in 11x14, 16x20 and 20 x 24 from B&H as late as June last year. I just finished the last bunch a couple of months ago. I hope its still available???
When I print lith it is by direction only on a hourly basis and the client is required to bring in the paper and *refreshments* . I only stock the fotospeed lith and Nova Dev presently and will make the client supply other emulsions..

I have a few boxes of the old blue box G2 and G3 in 12 x 16 to go through yet  but I am not sure why Bob mentioned using oriental G4 as the old stuff is no longer available.
