Sounds good Fiona. What's shipping costs like? How quick are you turning around orders? I am at work and had a quick look - just a note - since we have to pay GST on items anyway, is there any real need to not include the tax in the list price?

Welcome to apug, and nice to know a photographic business actively working in analogue photography.

With regard to GST in the catalogue, it is a requirement of Australian law that any retail advertising must include GST in the advertised price. The only exceptions are true wholesale businesses that only have trade (or business to business customers).

Many businesses get around this by showing a dual pricing with ex GST and inclusive GST pricing alongside each other. Some years ago, the Australian version of ebay were forced to ensure all of their commercial advertisers included GST in their advertised prices.

For the last 22 years of my working life I ran a true wholesale business, after the GST inception in 2000 we opened a small retail side. We were ordered to make the advertised prices in our retail website include GST, after a directive from the ATO.
