Compared to the modern Nikon 70-200 VR - this lens is a light as a feather - but the old, all-metal build is a treat.
Light enough to shoot hand-held on the D700.

One of Nikon's stealth classics. Only downside is that that zoom is often loose (i.e. slides back and forth too easily). A minor problem.
