New Nuarc LED UV printer ok for platinum palladium?

Hello all,

I am new here. My name is Rafael Rojas, and I am a fine art photographer living in Switzerland.
I am studying different options for printing platinum palladium with UV sources.
I have come across this new Nuarc model, based on quite a lot of LED UV lights which seem to provide a quite even coverage.

The intensity or distance to the paper cannot be adjusted, only the time.
Has anyone here have any experience with this machine, or similar ones? According to their website, the use of LED provides quicker, more durable and less hot use than conventional tubes or metal halide sources...

I know this kind of equipment is quite new and I doubt any of the members of this forum have it, but based on what you see, would you consider it a viable solution for Platinum Palladium contact printing?
I am most of all thinking in terms of even coverage (no possibility of changing distance).
If yes, this machine might be a real killer for the process. Leds make the process way faster, and they sell them in quite large surfaces.

Thank you for posting I am looking for a large contact UV exposing unit for my work .. Thank you for posting I will watch this thread... you may also want to ask this on Large Format Forum as there are a lot of workers there using digital negatives who may know something about this.

I have a 26k Nu Ark and make pt pd and gum overs with it but it is limited to 22 inches on long side and down the road I would like to make bigger prints.

I was going to rave about it... then realized. It might be perfect for high-contrast exposures. But alt process continuous-tone applications might reveal bumpy patterns of hot spots.

Try before you buy.

Hi Bill,

That is exactly what I fear about this piece of equipment. Everything else looks perfect, but I am not really sure about how even the results will be...
The problem is that for us in Europe it is not possible to try, unless we buy it! And at 4 grands + shipping, you'd better be sure.
The best solution would be to have someone "officially" testing this piece of equipment for alternative printing. If the results are good, Nuarc might have a great market in our community...
